SAME-DAY, WHEN AVAILABLE
Many pros have same-day openings. Depends on their schedule — we'll tell you straight.
Mid-summer is when wasp and hornet nests in Ohio get big — and aggressive. Paper wasps build under eaves and deck rails; yellow jackets nest in the ground and wall voids; bald-faced hornets hang gray basketball-sized nests in trees. Knocking a nest down yourself is how people end up with dozens of stings. Pros have the gear and the products to remove it safely, often same or next day.
SIGNS IT'S TIME TO CALL
- A visible papery nest under eaves, in a tree, or on a deck
- Steady wasp traffic in and out of one hole in the ground or a wall gap
- Buzzing inside a wall or ceiling void
- More wasps around trash cans and outdoor food than usual

STRAIGHT ANSWERS
Can I just spray the nest at night?
People do — and it goes wrong often enough that ER visits for stings spike every summer. Yellow jackets and hornets defend their nest in numbers, and wall-void nests can push the colony INTO the house if sprayed wrong. For anything bigger than a golf ball, or anything in a wall or the ground, call a pro.
Are these bees? I don't want to kill bees.
Good instinct — honey bees are usually relocated, not exterminated, and many pros coordinate with local beekeepers. Describe what you see on the call: fuzzy and round usually means bees; smooth, bright yellow-and-black means wasps or yellow jackets.
